NSHEA hosts events throughout the year for both informational and social purposes. Our official meetings (e.g. Annual General Meeting) generally take place in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) so that we’re as accessible to as many families as possible and we remain within appropriate travel distances for Board members.

Some examples of our regular events include:

  • Annual General Meeting
  • Annual apple picking at Noggins Farms in the Annapolis Valley (September/October)
  • Annual end of year report-writing workshop (late May/June)
  • Annual homeschool registration workshop (August)
  • Monthly Play Box meetups (first Wednesday of every month)

NSHEA is non-denominational and inclusive. We represent families with a wide variety of reasons for home educating. We are happy to attend a wide variety of homeschool events. If you’re planning a home education event and would like us to attend in support, please reach out!
