Homeschool Curriculum Resources

We know it can be tough to find the right homeschool resources. That's why we've put this page of resources together. If you're looking for homeschool curriculum, you're in the right place!

Before you get started, be sure to research homeschool styles. It's about more than just choosing a curriculum. There are lots of resources for this. Try the fun “What Kind of Homeschooler Are You” quiz. The Canadian Homeschooler also has an introduction to some of the homeschool methods. Finally, you can check the Nova Scotia Department of Education's curriculum for guidance on subjects by grade. Once you know more about what you want your homeschool to look like, you can look at the resources that support that method.

If you're new to homeschooling, check out our New to Homeschooling in Nova Scotia page for even more information.

Homeschool Resource List

We've put together a list of popular curriculum and resources. It's designed to help new and seasoned homeschoolers locate educational material on a variety of subjects. You can sort and filter this list to help you find what you need. This is only a starting point though and shouldn't be considered a full list of all of the options out there.

When compiling this list, we use the Secular, Eclectic, Academic (SEA) Homeschoolers definition of secular to mark items that are secular. To learn more, check out their definitions here. Curriculum that is marked “Christian” is marked so that those researching are aware that it does not meet the definitions linked above for secular content. As an inclusive organization, we believe home educators need to select the curriculum that best fits their family and values. Having the resources marked allows you to make the choices that are right for your family.

Note: This is not an exhaustive or complete list of available curriculums and resources.  We make no guarantees or warranty about how accurate or complete any resource is. We do not endorse any specific curriculum or resource. Each individual parent/guardian needs to choose learning materials appropriate for their child(ren).

The table below works best on a tablet or computer because of its width. We recommend a larger screen and Chrome or Firefox for the best experience.

Do you know another commercially available curriculum or resource that isn't on this list? We'd love to include it! Please send an email to with the name of the curriculum or resource and their website link. We'll check it out!
